Violin Lessons
Beinnger to Advanced of All Ages
Violin lessons
I teach complete beginners of every age! I also love teaching students with existing skills. If you want to learn, I am here to help!
What a lesson typically looks like:
I usually start with scales and warm ups, next hear what a student has worked on, then offer encouragement and correction where necessary.
We go over what to focus practice on, and how to practice.

Finally, I ask the student if they have any questions or techniques they want to work on this week.
Preparing for Lessons
What you get out of a lesson depends on what you put into it. If you practice, we will go on to learn new pieces almost every week.
If you aren't able to practice, lessons become a "guided practice," where I go over the music with you until you are confident. This allows me to correct any bad habits as they happen, and can be valuable to you!
"Susan has been instrumental in our son’s musical growth. She is patient, and knows how to engage him throughout the lesson. Not only has he become a stronger violinist, but he also has picked up the viola and loves the repertoire and musical guidance Susan provides in each lesson." - April K, Parent and musician
